Shakespeare Myth – Book of Revelation

© Gunnar Tómasson

8 January 2018

Foreword

GORGON, or the Wonderfull Yeare is the title of a poem by Gabriel Harvey, published in 1593. Also published in 1593 was the first work to appear under the name of William Shakespeare.

The poem has been accurately described as “intensely cryptic“. I first came across it decades ago and, like every other layman, I could not make head or tail of it – until today.

At the outset, the poem notes the non-occurrence in 1588 of the prophesied End of the World.  In this respect, the title‘s Cipher Value of 14786, is the sum of 5364 + 9322 + 100 = 14786, as in the respective Cipher Values of Gabriel Harvey, William Shakespeare, and THE END.

In Creation Myth, the End of the World is not to be construed literally. Rather the World is MAN as Creation in Time and Space. In Shakespeare‘s play, Hamlet‘s TRANSFORMATION on meeting his Father‘s Ghost marks End of a World/MAN and Advent of a New World/SON of MAN.

Through Cipher Analysis below, Gabriel Harvey‘s poem is shown to allude in three meaningful ways to the last Chapter of the Book of Revelation in the King James Bible of 1611. As further background, here are comments on Shakespeare Myth by three well-known personalities.

Charlie Chaplin

“In the work of the greatest geniuses, humble beginnings will reveal themselves somewhere but one cannot trace the slightest sign of them in Shakespeare… Whoever wrote [Shakespeare] had an aristocratic attitude.”

Samuel Clemens (Mark Twain)

“We are The Reasoning Race, and when we find a vague file of chipmunk tracks stringing through the dust of Stratford village, we know by our reasoning powers that Hercules has been along there. I feel that our fetish is safe for three centuries.”

Henry James

“I am… haunted by the conviction that the divine William is the biggest and most successful fraud ever practiced on a patient world.”
