Prologue

This morning, a friend responded to my postings on Ezra Pound with an email, whose subject line read:

Here lies the body of Ezra Pound lost at sea and never found.

I had never seen this seemingly contradictory statement before.

But in the context of Ancient Creation Myth, it can make sense!

How so?

Introduction

Thomas Stearns Eliot (1888 – 1965) was an essayist, publisher, playwright, literary and social critic and „one of the twentieth century’s major poets.“ He was born in St. Louis, Missouri to an old Yankee family. However he emigrated to England in 1914 (at age 25) and was naturalised as a British subject in 1927 at age 39.

Eliot attracted widespread attention for his poem The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock (1915), which is seen as a masterpiece of the Modernist movement. It was followed by some of the best-known poems in the English language, including The Waste Land (1922), The Hollow Men (1925) […] He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1948, „for his outstanding, pioneer contribution to present-day poetry

The Hollow Men appeared in 1925. […]  It is Eliot’s major poem of the late 1920s.  […]

[A critic] perceived a shift in Eliot’s method, writing that, „The mythologies disappear altogether in The Hollow Men.“ This is a striking claim for a poem as indebted to Dante as anything else in Eliot’s early work […]  The „continuous parallel between contemporaneity and antiquity“ that is so characteristic of his mythical method remained in fine form. The Hollow Men contains some of Eliot’s most famous lines, notably its conclusion:

This is the way the world ends
Not with a bang but a whimper.

The Hollow Men is a masterpiece of Saga Cipher Poetry in the Saga-Shakespeare tradition. And just like Bach’s musical compositions, T. S. Eliot’s poem has a precise mathematical aspect which a reader versed in the imagery and mathematical structure of certain key Saga-Shakespeare texts can extract from it just as a listener with perfect pitch will perceive Bach’s music in a way different from others not so endowed.

This note demonstrates T. S. Eliot’s use of (a) two reference Cipher Values from the Saga works of 13th century Iceland, (b) two reference Cipher Values of Stratfordian Myth in Elizabethan England, and  two key mythical concepts in the Augustan-Saga-Shakespeare literary tradition. At the end of this note is a link to a Cipher Calculator which readers can use to double-check the Cipher Values in (a) and (b).

 I. Brennu-Njálssaga

In the Saga-Shakespeare tradition, the Cipher Value of the masterpiece Brennu-Njálssaga serves as a key reference value, which is defined as the Cipher Sum of the Alpha and Omega sentences of the Saga plus the Alpha and Omege sentences of Kristniþáttur (Advent of Christianity) which is inserted in the Saga as Chapters 100 – 105 of its 159 Chapters:

 IV. Hollow Man/Imperfect Book/Brave New World

In Saga-Shakespeare Myth, Light of the World, 1000, is incarnate in Imperfect Book/ World/Man/The Globe set on a course to Destruction and Rebirth as Perfect Book/Man/Brave New World. The number symbol for Perfect Man is 432. In Shakespeare Myth, the Stratfordian’s “hour upon the stage” of The Globe begins with baptism and ends with burial.

The seven Omega lines of The Hollow Men begin with imperfect lines, with the four concluding lines echoing an accelerating rush to a world-ending BANG – a sexual allusion signaling “death” of mythical Old Man and Rebirth of New Man. In ancient creation myth, the concept of MAN denotes Giver of Life, Man in the Image of God, Man as Microcosmos or Brave New World:

Background

St. Peter’s Basilica symbolizes Perfect Creation/Man in God’s image. To mark its official “completion” in 1612, the following inscription was placed across its façade – shown here with Saga Cipher Values:

In Saga Myth of 13^th century Iceland, Christ’s Blood is shed through the sacrificial “death” of “the prince of apostles”, referred to in “death” as VALFREYJU STAFR (Battle-Mistress’s Staff). WILL SHAKESPEARE of Stratfordian Myth is play-cast as archetypal Apostle nurtured by Christ’s Blood from baptism to burial, with “death” having come through Apostle’s transformation into Flaming Sword/Shaking Speare.

Mythical “prince of apostles” is Tri-Unite – Snorri-Gunnarr-Höskuldr – whose Monad/King aspect is Njáll Þorgeirsson, 9299. Njáll´s “burning” which Einar Pálsson, master interpreter of Saga Myth, construed as marking The Second Coming of Christ in “year” 1000 A.D., is prelude to The Globe/All the World as Stage being set on FIRE by Flaming Sword, 4000 as in 9299 + 4000 = 13299.

Snorri Sturluson is “hidden” in Brennu-Njálssaga, but Gunnarr Hámundarson (Solar Hero) and Höskuldr Hvítanessgoði (Njáll’s Christ-like fosterson) both shed their “blood” sowing corn in a field. Höskuldr’s wife preserves his “blood” in his cloak and – in the Saga’s most horrific scene – pours it over the head of her kin, Flosi, and challenges him to “avenge” the killing of Höskuldr by the sons of Brennu- Njáll.

Flosi was responsible for the ‘burning of Njáll’ – an act symbolizing the “heathen” gods Osiris-Isis-Horus being “burned” and replaced by Christian Spiritus Sanctus. As such, Flosi is mythical EVERYMAN.

Francis Bacon, who placed a Latin citation from Daniel XII:4 on the frontispiece of this Advancement of Learning, reportedly had the manuscript of the King James Bible for a year before it was printed in 1611.

There he found Arnbjörn priest and spoke to him.  They decided that Snorri should enter the basement which was under the ceiling there in the houses. Gizurr and his men began to search for Snorri in the houses. Then Gizurr found Arnbjörn priest and asked where Snorri was. He said that he did not know that. Then Gizurr said that they could not make peace if they did not meet. The priest said that he might perhaps be found if he was promised that his life would be spared. Thereafter they became aware of where Snorri was. And they entered the basement, Markús Marðarson, Símon knútr, Árni beiskr, Þorsteinn Guðinason, Þórarinn Ásgrímsson. Símon knútr asked Árni to strike him dead. “Thou shalt not strike,” said Snorri. “You shall strike,” said Símon.  “Thou shalt not strike,” said Snorri. After that Árni inflicted a fatal wound  on him, and both he and Þorsteinn finished him off.
