Huang Nubo’s tumbling land purchasing case in Iceland may fail to bear its fruits. On August 2012, foreign media covered a report and said that the Iceland government had set up a panel, e-investigating the Zhongkun investment Group’s scheme to lend plot there for exploration. or the development of the case in Iceland, Huang Nubo can’t help but indicated to wait with reat patience. The result of the Iceland project, whether succeed or not, will not impact Huang’s oversea acquirement plans, however. If it fails in Iceland, Huang will beef up alternative nvestment plans in other countries. Huang disclosed that he only wanted to wait for the ultimate esult for Iceland project. The compromise, Huang Nubo took from the land purchasing plan in Iceland in last October o this year’s renting, astonished the businessman that political factors became the major hurdles or Chinese enterprises to go overseas development.

21CBH: What are the major factors for Zhongkun investment when it comes to international nvestment?

Huang: The main business operations for Zhongkun lie in the tour and property industries. cquirement regarding to resources, therefore, calls for considerations in three areas: First of ll, we need consider the scarcity of resources, including culture, geography and so on. North urope, for instance, is very suitable, while France is not necessary under this gauge. Secondly, we take account the political stabilization and friendship with China. For example, Japan isqualifed according to this criteria. Last but not the least, weather it is the prime for investment r not. Economic recession brings in attractive acquirement cost, such as Europe.

21CBH: Which factors will eventually affect the success of international investment? Huang: Now I believe political factors are the main factors. I was thinking that with increasing conomy in China, outbound investment was supposed to embrace popularity. The current ituation, however, tells that overseas kept alarms and constrains on China. A slew of people eld the opinion that land purchasing in Iceland is part of China’s “north pole strategy”, which is ompletely nonsense. Optimistically, I think this period of time is just a temporary transition in he history.

21CBH: Now, except Iceland, are there any other direct investments or M&A opportunities nd how to manage them?

Huang: It‘ll be a long term strategy for us to go overseas, and we are not going to stop it. Up o the matter of Iceland, we can only be patient and wait for the result. I also keep my eyes on ountries, such as Denmark and Norway. Nevertheless, there’ll be no detailed acquirement plan efore the result in Iceland.
